A reading was held at Pied a Terre, a bookshop dedicated to the preservation and display of maps, globes, travel literature and travel books. The bookstore also has a café where visitors can relax and embrace their wanderlust. The talented Mr. Redmon O’Hanlon regaled us with epic travel adventure stories spanning from the Congo, the North Atlantic, the Amazon, and Borneo. He spoke at length on the pigmy tribe in the Congo where he spent time writing and researching their lifestyle. According to O’Hanlon, the tribe only has one hunting net and therefore they must work together to hunt and gather food. Another interesting story was that family disputes are not allowed because disputes could threaten their survival. They work together to resolve issues in a calm but disciplined way to ensure their unity and survival.
